LONE STAR AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERDS HEALTH GUARANTEE

Qualifying examination 

The new owner(s)________________ has 48 hours from the time they receive their purchased Australian shepherd(s) checked by a veterinarian of their choice in order to qualify for the guarantees below. If the purchased Australian shepherd(s) is not checked by a veterinarian with the 48 hours there is no health guarantee on this pup offered by lone star kennels.

To the new owner(s):

 Please follow your veterinarian’s recommended vaccine schedule. We recommend feeding Aussies puppy food for the first 24 months of life. After that point, we recommend switching to a adult food.

Life- Threatening illness:

Lone Star  Kennels offers no guarantee against illnesses or accidents not contracted on our premises, and takes no responsibility for associated veterinary bills, If the veterinarian examination reveals that the puppy/dog has a life threatening illness, the buyer has an additional 48 hours to return the Australian shepherd(s) to Lone Star  Kennels. (At the buyer’s expense,) along with a detailed written statement from the treating veterinarian about the animal’s condition.

Life threatening genetic defects:

Lone Star kennels further agrees to guarantee the Australian shepherd(s) for genetic defects that would be life threatening to the Australian shepherd(s). The diagnosis must be made before 1 years of age. Lone Stars kennels does not pay for veterinary bills or travel expenses associated with this condition. If the pup should die of this condition before the end of its 1^st year, an autopsy is required. The examining veterinarian must send Lone Star kennels all documents and proof of claim relating to this 1^st year period within 10 days. If the claim is valid, Lone Star kennels will require that animal in question be spayed /neutered or euthanized.

Preventable illness:

Lone Star kennels will not accept a claim for a preventable illness. Failure to vaccinate the Australian shepherd(s) in accordance with the veterinary recommendations for standard practice voids this contract.

Hip dysphasia: 

 We offer a conditional (replacement) guarantee that your puppy is clear of hip dysphasia for 1 year from his/her whelping date.  We will not pay for the veterinary bills or travel expenses. If something is found with this puppy/dog’s hip’s all documents and proof of claim related to this 1^st year period must be sent to Lone Star kennels.  If we find that your claim is valid a pup of same sex will be offered to replace that pup. Shipping of both puppies to and from Lone Star kennels is at the (buyer’s expense).

Claims:

Lone Star kennels reserves the right to evaluate all claims and reject those deemed invalid for reason described above. If the claim is deemed valid, the Australian shepherd(s) will be replaced when another animal of similar appearance and equal or greater value becomes available. If the replacement puppy/dog is offered and not taken, then the claim will be considered null and void from that point forward.
